WINDSOR, England (Reuters) – At the conclusion of a state funeral watched by millions of people worldwide, Queen Elizabeth was being returned to her beloved Windsor Castle to be buried in a small chapel in a private ceremony.
Windsor Castle, which was built by William the Conqueror following the Norman conquest in 1066, has been rebuilt and remodelled over the centuries but remains the world’s biggest and oldest occupied castle.
It was the queen’s main weekend retreat and preferred home in the latter years of her reign, located just outside of London.
A massive fire there in 1992 caused extensive damage, capping what the queen dubbed her “Annus Horribilis” (Horrible Year), which saw a string of scandals hit the royal family.
More than a dozen English and British kings and queens are buried at Windsor Castle. Most of them, including Henry VIII, who died in 1547, and Charles I, who was beheaded in 1649, are buried in St. George’s Chapel.
The queen will be laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, which is located next to the main St George’s Chapel’s quire. She commissioned and named the memorial chapel after her father in 1962.
King George and Queen Mother, as well as their younger daughter Princess Margaret, are buried there.

Recently, a model and influencer went viral on TikTok after revealing that she had an affair with Adam Levine of Maroon 5, and that the musician intended to name his third kid after her. Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo, Levine’s wife, released photographs on Instagram on Friday informing the public that the pair is expecting their third child.
In a video that was posted on TikTok on Monday and has received 1.7 million views as of this writing, the influencer Sumner Stroh stated that her only goal was to “tear the bandaid off.” I was basically having an affair with a man who is married to a Victoria’s Secret model,” she says. I feel exploited because I was young, naive, and exploited at the time.
Before sharing screenshots of Levine’s direct communications, in which it appears the two flirted back and forth through text, she said that she was “easily deceived. “She claimed that she had been dating Adam for almost a year. “This is how he came back into my life after I stopped talking to him for a period of months.”

Third major earthquake of this magnitude to strike Mexico since 1985 on September 19; 1 fatality
On the same day that two prior large quakes shocked the nation years earlier, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake rattled Mexico’s west coast on Monday.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, there were no initial indications of significant damage caused by the earthquake, which struck at 1:05 p.m. local time. According to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a wall of a mall collapsed in the port city of Manzanillo, Colima, killing one person.
A tsunami was probable along portions of the Mexican coastline within 200 miles of the earthquake’s epicenter, according to the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center, but there was no threat to the U.S. West Coast, including California and Hawaii, according to Weather.com.
According to the USGS, the earthquake measured 9.4 miles deep and was centered 23 miles southeast of Aquila, close to the border between the states of Colima and Michoacan. Beyond a few cracks in some buildings in the town of Coalcoman, Michoacan’s Public Security department stated that there were no immediate reports of serious damage in that state.
